Been there many years ago with a tour group. Seen a few El Greco and Goya, and we were herded out by the tour guide. Didn't see much. This is actually better!! Wish I had my computer linked to my HD TV.

View these paintings on 1080p HDTV is amazing but still can not compare seeing that in real life!

You are absolutely right. There is a reason why the artist(s) chose a particular size of their canvases: how they relate to human scale and our field of vision. The only way is to experience the real thing! But, just don't go to see any art museum with a tour group!:( Unfortunately, I have a wife with a strong sense of insecurity when traveling by ourselves.
